15xD Deep Hole Carbide Drills for Long-Hole Production

The 15xD deep hole carbide drill series is designed for holes beyond the practical range of standard and shorter deep-hole drills. Its extended flute supports depths of up to fifteen times the drill diameter, while internal coolant channels help deliver coolant, remove heat, and evacuate chips. Because 15xD drilling is sensitive to runout, entry accuracy, chip congestion, coolant flow, and machine rigidity, a compatible pilot hole and controlled process are generally recommended. Material-specific geometries, coatings, flute designs, and custom dimensions are available for different deep-hole applications.

A 12xD drill is shorter and normally provides greater rigidity. A 15xD drill provides more reach but requires more careful control of pilot-hole accuracy, runout, coolant delivery, chip evacuation, and machine stability.
