Product Overview

3xD Solid Carbide Drill —Engineered for Cast Iron

The 3xD carbide drill for cast iron is developed for short-hole drilling applications where abrasive wear, edge chipping, powdery chips, and cast surface conditions can affect tool life and hole consistency. Compared with steel or aluminum drilling, cast iron machining requires stronger edge stability, reliable wear resistance, and stable chip evacuation under dry, external coolant, or internal coolant conditions.

This drill is manufactured from imported MG grade 0.8 μm submicron tungsten carbide rods with 10% cobalt content, providing the hardness, toughness, and edge strength required for cast iron drilling. Its optimized point geometry helps improve hole positioning and entry stability, while the flute structure supports smooth chip discharge and reduces the risk of chip accumulation.

With self-developed high-performance coating, controlled edge passivation, and customizable coolant options, this drill is suitable for customers who need stable drilling performance, longer tool life, and reliable batch production quality in cast iron components.
