8xD Solid Carbide Drill —Engineered for Deep Steel Drilling

The 8xD carbide drill for steel is developed for deeper hole machining where chip evacuation, hole straightness, tool rigidity, and wear resistance are more demanding than standard short-hole drilling. Compared with 3xD and 5xD drills, 8xD steel drilling requires stronger flute support, better chip removal, and more stable cutting performance over a longer drilling depth.

Steel materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, structural steel, pre-hardened steel, and bearing steel can generate continuous chips and cutting heat during deeper drilling. If chips cannot be removed smoothly, cutting resistance increases, hole accuracy becomes unstable, and tool wear may accelerate. For this reason, an 8xD carbide drill for steel needs stable geometry, reinforced flute design, reliable coating protection, and suitable coolant support.

This drill is manufactured from imported MG grade 0.8 μm submicron tungsten carbide rods with 10% cobalt content. Combined with ALTISIXN wear-resistant coating, optimized point geometry, reinforced flute structure, and controlled edge preparation, it helps improve chip evacuation, maintain hole straightness, reduce edge wear, and support reliable deep-hole drilling in steel components.
