8xD Solid Carbide Drill —Engineered for Deep Stainless Steel Drilling

The 8xD carbide drill for stainless steel is developed for deeper hole machining where chip evacuation, heat control, tool rigidity, and hole straightness are critical. Compared with 3xD and 5xD stainless steel drilling, 8xD applications require more stable coolant delivery, stronger flute support, and more reliable chip control over a longer drilling depth.

Stainless steel materials such as 304, 316L, 17-4PH, and duplex stainless steel are known for high toughness, poor thermal conductivity, and strong work-hardening tendency. In deeper 8xD holes, chips travel a longer distance before leaving the hole, which increases the risk of chip clogging, heat buildup, cutting edge overload, and unstable hole quality.

This drill is manufactured from imported MG grade 0.8 μm submicron tungsten carbide rods with 10% cobalt content. Combined with ALTISIXN wear-resistant coating, optimized point geometry, reinforced flute structure, controlled edge preparation, and internal coolant support, it helps improve chip evacuation, reduce work hardening, protect the cutting edge, and maintain stable drilling performance in stainless steel components.
